Ms. Allen has been the project manager on commercial renovation projects 3,000-10,000 sq ft of property. 63 Flushing Ave was a We Work/ We Live prototype she managed through completion located at the notable Brooklyn Navy Yard.
Ms. Allen has a Bachelor’s Degree from Mount Saint Mary College, now enrolled in the graduate program, has many certificates in Project Planning including a 75-hr Real Estate certification from the Staten Island Board of Realtors and an Associate’s Degree with a concentration in Labor Relations. Nicky Allen is OSHA certified issued by the NYS Department of Labor and has worked as an independent auditor tasked to oversee general contractors awarded rehabilitation funding to elevate structures affected by Hurricane Sandy and record their efforts to sub-contract Minority Business Enterprises (MBE). Nicky Allen is now an active participant in NYS Small Buildings Program as an individual developer. Since her arrival to Poughkeepsie over this past summer, she’s formed a network of Black contractors and developers preparing to compete in the Spring for Homes & Community Renewal’s semi-annual Multifamily Request for Proposal (RFP).
