John Galloway, Jr. | (he/him/his)
Community Volunteer Coordinator | The Label Co-Founder
"John John" is a community engagement activist, passionate about all areas of youth development. Born and raised in Beacon, New York, John attended the Beacon City School District K-12 and also attended Dutchess BOCES’ program, studying early childhood education and teaching assistant studies.
When he was only fourteen, John experienced a traumatic, life-threatening event through his school district. This experience fueled John’s drive to better the education system, which is lacking representation on all levels - from administration to teaching. In 2020, John successfully fought to be appointed to both the Board of Education and the Human Relations Commission in Beacon. In these seats, he brings a different point of view, representing part of the community that the local government does not get to hear from very often.
In addition to his new leadership positions, John also runs The Label Foundation Inc., a nonprofit he founded along with his childhood friends amid the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, he organized multiple clothing drives throughout the Hudson Valley as well as hosted COVID safe holiday events in his hometown, helping to instill much-needed togetherness and unity in his community. In his spare time, you can find John playing basketball at his favorite place to be (Looper’s Plaza!), on local hiking trails, stuffing his face with his favorite foods, or walking around his city with his childhood friends.
